Add Webmaster Contact Link

Footer Add Webmaster Contact Link Access & Modify Footer

Some Sites SOS templates come with a pre-existing empty placeholder webmaster contact link in the Footer. If yours does, the following tutorial will explain how to add an address to that link, as well as how to add one if yous did not and how to delete it.



  1. How to Access & Use The Footer
    1. "More" menu, top, Right corner of any page
    2. "edit site layout" option
    3. the Google Sites template part's menus will display at the page top
    4. move to the page bottom and hover over the Footer section 
    5. when it is highlighted, turns Blue, select it
    6. "edit custom footer" link will display, select it
    7. "edit site footer" dialog box opens
    8. now you may work in the editor
      • to close the dialog box when done, select the big, Gray "OK" button
      • to close the page, select the big , Blue "Close" button
    9. check your work
  2. add an email address to the webmaster contact link
    1. select the "Webmaster contact link"
    2. a very small tool bar will display below the link
      1. select the Blue "change" link
        1. a dialog box will open to input two pieces of information
          1. the email address
            1. use this format: mailto:myemail@isp.net
          2. the text you want viewers to see such as "contact webmaster"
  3. add a webmaster contact link to the Footer
    1. place your curser in the editor where the new link is to display
    2. select the "link" icon at the top of the editor
      1. the "create link" dialog box opens
      2. select "web address"
      3. a dialog box will open
        1. insert the text to be viewed such as "contact webmaster"
        2. insert the contact email address
        3. select the big, Red "Save" button in the dialog box
        4. select the big, Blue "Save" button in the page
      4. test by selecting the link
        1. if signed into gmail, a new email message should display
    3. save
    4. test by sending a message to the address to make sure the email address is correct
  4. delete the webmaster contact link
    1. select the "Webmaster contact link"
    2. use the delete key on your keyboard
    3. select the big, Red "OK" button in the dialog box
    4. select the big, Red "Save" button in the page
    5. test by opening any page and check that the link is gone from the Footer
